Dropbox, 

Hi I see a lot of links to Dropbox on the site. Its not a system /site I am aware of. I did a search and they want £95 for membership. Things are tough at the moment so theres no way I am paying it. Can these links be put to something free or the documents held on the OLC site itself

Hi wristpin, have set up  account , tried clicking on a link  you put up and it says the item has been deleted. 

 

Can you put them back please.

We don't use Dropbox on this site although some members use it to share documents through their posts on the Forum. That is their choice and while it might be desirable that all documents are placed on the main site for others to access, it's really up to the individual member as to how they share what they have.

As far as I am aware, when someone provides a link to a Dropbox folder it should be freely accessible to anyone with the link whether they have an account or not (although no doubt the Dropbox site will try and "encourage" people to sign up to one of its plans at the time). These links are often time-limited by Dropbox which means that anything shared using them will become inaccessible at some point.
